Located in the old New York Central freight depot in Medina, NY, the Medina RR Museum is one of the largest freight depot museums in the country. The building itself was built in 1905-06, and is one of the largest (301ft. by 34ft.), last surviving wooden freight depots in the United States.
Our air-conditioned building features the largest collection of such artifacts and memorabilia known to exist under one roof. Also see the longest HO scale layout and diorama all on one floor, an immense 14ft. by 204ft.

The mission of the RIT Model Railroad Club (RITMRC) is to promote the hobby of model railroading, to preserve railroad history, make new friends, and have fun. We do this through the development of working models and participating in the railroad community.
We work with more than just trains, and welcome any RIT community member who wishes to learn more about trains, building scale models, electronics, scenery effects, software, and more! We meet Tuesdays at 7pm in SAU Room A-420, across from the tech crew offices (detailed directions).
We also hold work sessions on Saturdays at 10am to work on our model railroad, the R&IT. Like us on Facebook and check out our progress posts to see what we have been up to recently.

These four layouts in O scale were started in 1950 by the City of Rochester, and the Police Athletic (PAL) with assistance from the Lionel Corporation. These layouts depict the four seasons , and the backdrops were painted by the Rochester Art Club. The Lionel Corporation donated $5,000 worth of trains, tracks and other accessories. The City of Rochester supplied a crew of carpenters who built the train room. New York Governor Thomas E. Dewey officially opened the P.A.L. Model Railroad Heaven with a ceremony on October 27, 1950. In 1991, Lionel again donated a large amount of stock and accessories. In 2004 a major contribution of locomotives, rolling stock and accessories were received by donations from many O Gauge manufacturers with the help from the Train Collectors Association (TCA). In 2010, the Eastern Division of the TCA donated money for these layouts. Throughout the years many other individuals and companies have made donations to these layouts (please go to the link of sponsors).
